The mission of the Grand Rapids Rifle & Pistol Club Junior Program is to provide youth (ages 8 – 19) with the opportunity to participate in shooting sports, with an emphasis in three-position smallbore rifle, international air rifle, sporter air rifle, and BB Gun. Regardless of skill or ability, all members can have a safe and enjoyable time. The program focuses on marksmanship and team comradery. All equipment is provided, including guns, ammunition, and targets.
All participants are required to enroll in Michigan 4-H.
Orion National Air Rifle League (Precision or Sporter Air Rifle) – The league consists of eight regular season matches (September 26 – November 20) and a postseason (November 28 – December 18).
National Rifle League (Precision Air Rifle) – The league consists of 10 postal matches fired January – March.
Mid-State Rifle League (4×10, conventional target) – The league consists of 10 postal matches fired January – April.
Orion’s Three Position Smallbore Rifle Virtual Matches (3×20, metric target) – Occurs monthly.
Orion’s Standing Air Rifle Virtual Matches (60-shots, standing) – Occurs monthly.
Orion’s Three Position Air Rifle Virtual Matches (3×10, precision or sporter) – Occurs monthly.
Orion’s BB Gun Virtual Matches (4×10) – Occurs monthly.
Aces Postal (Air Rifle) – Occurs quarterly.

The club participates in various other local, regional, and national matches hosted by the American Smallbore Shooting Association (ASSA), Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP), Michigan 4-H, National Rifle Association (NRA), and USA Shooting (USAS) throughout the year.
The junior club is always accepting cash donations or in-kind contributions to help support.
